TEAM MOLLY MAID PADDLE THEIR WAY TO WESTMINSTER

Louis Allen (16) from East Hagbourne (Oxon) and George Barnicoat (16) from North Leigh (Oxon) who are sponsored by MOLLY MAID, the UK’s best known domestic cleaning organisation, paddled their way from Devizes to Westminster in a gruelling four-day 125 miles International Canoe Race in the Junior Doubles division this Easter weekend (22-25th April 2011).

Pam Bader OBE, CEO of MOLLY MAID proudly comments, “We are delighted that George and Louis led the race for a good stretch before the partnership was broken up with Louis having to be ambulanced off with heat stroke. However, we are thrilled that despite experiencing some of the toughest heat conditions in the race’s history, that Team MOLLY MAID was able to finish with a replacement team member for Louis. I believe this is a tremendous achievement and experience for both George and Louis. Hot weather can play havoc with any professional athlete and the fact that Louis suffered on two occasions was a blow, but nonetheless we are incredibly proud to be supporting this talented partnership. We know they will have much success in the future and will be watching them with interest.”
