When switching from his job as general manager at large hotel firms, Terry May needed to find a company to work with that was supportive and not dictatorial.
In November 2005 he found MOLLY MAID, saw that it fitted the bill perfectly and took on a franchise.
He operates his business with confidence, knowing he has the support of an international business behind him should he need it.
That strong footing sets the tone for a successful environment in which staff go out and build a big rapport with clients.
It is not unusual for Terry’s team to contact a customer in advance and ask them if they need anything fetching from the shops before they go over to clean
It’s little touches like this that make sure the customers are happy.
One such customer wrote a glowing testimonial to say: “They (the maids) did such a good job that I wanted to leave a little something for them the next time they’re there.
“They ended up dealing with the way the flat was left when I took on the lease and did a much better job than the supposedly professional company that the leasing agent got in.
“You can tell them it will definitely never be that dirty again and thank them very much from me!”
So, what’s Terry’s top tip to keeping your house clean?
He said: “If you are unlucky enough to get chewing gum on a carpet or soft furnishings cover it with ice and leave until the ice has melted.
“By this time you will be able to chip the gum away quite easily.”
