The MOLLY MAID HomeSafe Cleaning System for Coronavirus and Beyond

Thank you for trusting MOLLY MAID into your home. We’re pleased to confirm it’s business as usual.

Latest Update 13th January 2021 – For all Our Customers in Scotland:

On 13 January 2021, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced increased restrictions for Scotland.  Current Scottish Government guidance now says that services in the home can continue ‘in support of a clean and safe living environment for people in vulnerable circumstance, living with a disability or otherwise unable to clean their own home’.  Molly Maid customers can therefore continue to enjoy our HomeSafe cleaning services based on their own personal needs which as every customer would expect, we keep confidential. We look forward to continuing to support all customers in their own personal housecleaning needs and to helping the communities we serve to keep a safe and clean home.  Please keep you, your family and loved ones safe.

Update following National Lockdown Annoucement made on 4th January, 2021:

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 4th January 2021, announcing a further national lockdown, which followed the announcement in Scotland earlier in the day announcing the same. We are please to let you know that the latest Government guidelines allows services like MOLLY MAID, which are provided in people’s home to continue provided they follow COVID secure guidelines. The Government guidelines clearly state “Where it is necessary for you to work in other people’s homes – for example, for nannies, cleaners or tradespeople – you can do so…. This is essential to keeping the country operating and supporting sectors and employers”.

All of our hard working teams closely follow our HomeSafe procedures which are designed to keep everyone safe – you, your family as well as our teams. When cleaning your home, socially distancing from our teams is really important for everyone’s health and safety. We thank you for your continued support to MOLLY MAID and we’re very happy to continue to offer our cleaning services to all our customers.

Latest Update: 20th December 2020

On Saturday 19th December 2020, the government announced further restrictions introducing a Tier 4 for London and South East England as well as the restrictions in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We are pleased to confirm that these restrictions do not impact our ability to continue to clean our customers homes. Updated guidence on the government website clearly states that ‘cleaners are allowed to continue to clean in people’s homes’. We know that Christmas won’t be the same for many and our heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone for any Christmas plans that now need to be changed. We hope you stay well and healthy and to continue to have a lovely Christmas.

Update 20th June 2020

Business as Usual

We’re pleased to announce that we are now operating at full capacity and cleaning the homes of our customers around the United Kingdom. We’ve worked hard to develop the industry leading HomeSafe procedures which puts the health and safety of you, your family and our teams of maids at the core of how we work and are proud that these procedures have been recognised by the Government (Molly Maid: Robust procedures help cleaning business get back into customers’ homes)

Our HomeSafe procedures include;

  • Daily health check for all of our fully employed teams of maids.
  • Pre clean contact to understand your preferences for social distancing while we are in your home.
  • The use of Xtra Protect, our specialist disinfectant and anti-microbial cleaner.
  • Using Xtra protect on frequently touched areas in your home, including your house door handle, letter box and doorbell when we leave.

As we get back to work and with many of our customers having spent much more time in their home, you may want Molly Maid to spend a bit more time to thoroughly clean some areas of your home. This can be arranged with your Franchise Owner and adds just a bit more to your regular cleaning fee.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in Molly Maid to clean your home and help to keep your family safe.

Update on 5th May 2020

We’re happy to share that we’re beginning to resume service with some of our businesses operating on a limited schedule (please contact your local MOLLY MAID to check the status of their operation). In our efforts to continue to support the communities we work, live and operate in, we are prioritising our service to cleaning the homes of our older and vulnerable customers, those who are working in our fabulous NHS and critical care.  As we return, we’ve developed our HomeSafe Cleaning system that puts the health and safety of you, your family and our team of maids at the core of how we work.

We are of course excited to be speaking with all our customers (old & new) but as we return on a limited schedule, it may take us longer than usual to book a time to clean and sanitise your home.  But we’re sure you can understand why we are trying to prioritise these customers first.

Thank you for your understanding and support for all of us at Molly Maid .  We hope you and your family are safe during this very concerning period.

Update on 9th April 2020 – Resumption of Service Soon

We hope you, your families and loved ones remain safe and well in what has been truly been a tough few weeks.  As of 23rd of March, 2020 we had taken the difficult decision to suspend our service. We did so not because we were one of the businesses required to, but because we felt we had a duty to our customers, our staff, our communities and the country to help prevent the spread of COVID19 and support our NHS.

While we might be a big national brand, we are first and foremost comprised of small local businesses who collectively have been overwhelmed with the amount of support and kind words we have received from our customers. We are truly blown away. It is why we want to assure all our current and future customers that we are working hard to modify elements of our operation so we can safely provide our service in the near future, so please continue to check our website as details will be announced soon.

Stay safe and we wish you and your family a good Easter.

Update on 23rd March 2020 Coronavirus (COVID 19) Information for our customers

Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily suspending our service

We continued to service and clean our customers’ homes for as long as we were able to. Throughout the developments with COVID-19, we closely followed all the Government and Public Health England recommendations to ensure the welfare of our staff and customers. As a result we have temporarily suspended our service as of Monday 23rd March 2020. We want to reassure you that we are continuing to support our staff and communities as we all navigate through these uncertain times. We are all in this together and we will continue to do what is right by the communities in which we live and work to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves, your loved ones and your community, and we look forward to cleaning your homes once again when the time is right.

Update on 16th March 2020

Coronavirus (COVID 19) Dear valued Molly Maid Customer,
With all the coronavirus updates we hear in the media every day, we know that our customers will appreciate some reassurances on the measures in place by your local Molly Maid Franchise Owner and their teams to provide extra protection for you, your family and your home at this time. We always recognise the privilege and trust our customers give to Molly Maid to enter and clean their homes in communities throughout the UK, so we would like to give you the following assurances:

  • Firstly – our staff entering your home. We are in daily contact with our cleaning teams, assessing their health and following Public Health England and NHS guidelines. If there is even the slightest doubt or potential virus symptom, they will not be permitted to enter your home and will not resume cleaning until they have cleared the recommended period of self-isolation. It is possible therefore that you may see a different cleaning team in the coming weeks, but please be assured that they are all trained and insured exactly the same way, and will know all your cleaning needs.
  • Next – how we clean your home. As featured on the Molly Maid website, our cleaning teams use a range of safe and eco-friendly cleaning products. One specialist cleaning product is XtraProtect, a sanitising and anti-microbial cleaner, which has recently passed independent laboratory tests proving it is effective against all enveloped viruses including all Coronaviruses (to BS EN 14476 standards). In addition to using this product in your kitchens and bathrooms, our teams have been specifically instructed to pay extra attention with XtraProtect on door-handles, light switches, railings and other areas frequently touched by hands
  • Finally – regular contact in the coming weeks. We will keep in close contact with you with any updates, including if we may have to request a change to your cleaning dates. Please can we gently ask for your help too. If you have to self-isolate, been in contact with friends or family either with the virus or showing symptoms, please can you immediately contact your local Franchise Owner so they can reschedule your clean to a suitable date. The health and welfare of our staff and their families is just so important to us.

We hope this helps to give you the assurances you need on the extra special levels of care and attention we are taking in your home. As some of our cleaning teams are receiving requests from other customers regarding additional areas to clean, or to increase their cleaning frequency, if you too would like to discuss this please contact your local Molly Maid Franchise Owner who will do everything possible to help.

This is an unprecedented situation that is greatly impacting the families and communities we serve and we are doing our best to help us all get through it.

Best wishes,

Kevin Hipkins
