Impromptu Barbecue!

It’s Friday night and you’re on your way home from work, and your youngest child sends you a text asking ‘what’s for dinner?’

MOLLY MAID, the professional house cleaners, share the following top tips to help you organise the best quick and painless last minute barbecue ever:

Food:  Call into the supermarket and pickup easy-to-prepare barbecue classics: ready-made beef burgers, coleslaw and potato salad from the deli section, together with bread rolls for the burgers, a juicy red tomato, red onion and jar of deli pickles.

Barbecue:  Text/ call your partner and ask them to fire up the barbecue as you approach home.

Drink:  Text/ call to put drinks to cool in the fridge.

Preparation: Once you’re home, delegate the various tasks. For example, ask one child to lay the table on the patio or terrace and perhaps ask the older one (if age appropriate)to slice the tomato and onion and to put all the condiments for the burgers on the table.

Activity: Why not suggest the children play an outdoor game such as cricket, swing ball or badminton to keep them entertained while you and your partner cook the burgers and dress the salads.

Dinner’s ready: Enjoy sitting down over a meal and spending precious time together as a family.

Perfect!
