From looking after guests in a five star B&B to looking after the homes of people in Cheltenham, Imogen Fawcett is used to setting and meeting high standards in everything she does.
She took on her Molly Maid franchise just before Christmas in 2014 and it proved the perfect fit for her as she returned from life in New Zealand and needed a business she could take on to fit around looking after her school-age children.
The franchise has proven to be the perfect fit for Imogen – who had owned her B&B for 10 years – and she gets a great satisfaction from the successful service her team provides on a daily basis.
She said: “For me, it is the best feeling to be making a difference to people’s lives and helping them.
“We all have times when we can’t cope due to illness, age, or circumstance beyond our control. I have a number of elderly or unwell clients whom we visit regularly. It takes a weight of worry from their shoulders but also from those of their family.
“Every time I hear the phrase, ‘I am so relieved that you can help’ or ‘I am so pleased that you can help my mother’, it makes my day!”
Imogen thrives as a result of the people she encounters, whether that be her customers, staff or fellow Molly Maid Franchise Owners who provide a highly effective support network.
Her team keeps customers happy through a blend of hard work and expert know-how.
Imogen explained: “It may seem strange, but my best cleaning tip has been sitting in the kitchen looking at me for many years and I have been ignoring it! Washing up liquid. Good old simple straightforward washing up liquid.
“Add to water, apply with a cloth or sponge and it’s perfect for greasy cookers, splash backs, extractors, kitchen surfaces or even in the bathroom. Use neat if the item is really greasy.
“It is mild and gentle but cuts through grease and leaves a sparkle when dried and buffed up with a microfibre cloth.”
The customers certainly appreciate the results of this sort of top tip.
One wrote a testimonial to say: “It was a real treat to come home to a clean house. Your team did a great job.”
Another simply added: “The girls have been lovely and did a great job. What they’ve done is great – thank you all.”
Imogen may no longer be running her B&B but it’s clear that the people of Cheltenham are now benefitting from their own five-star service and they’ll keep checking in to enjoy more.
